Mi departamento acaba de recibir la aprobación para realizar dos contrataciones en las áreas de lingúística y literatura/cultura. Publico aquí los anuncios por si a alguno de los asiduos de Corto y cambio les pudiera interesar.

Term Assistant Professor of Spanish

George Mason University, Department of Modern and Classical Languages invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track Term Assistant Professor position in Spanish linguistics to begin August of 2009. Specialty open. Salary $41,000. The contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal.

Teaching responsibilities include 12 credits per semester in language, linguistics and/or culture at the undergraduate level. Ph.D. in hand at time of appointment, and native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English are required, as is evidence of excellent teaching ability at all levels of Spanish. Familiarity with the latest instructional technologies and commitment to undergraduate education are a plus.

The department offers a Spanish major and minor, as well as master's degrees in Spanish and Spanish/multicultural education, and is actively engaged with other units of the university, including Latin American studies, cultural studies, women and gender studies, and global affairs. George Mason University is located just outside of Washington, D.C. It is the largest public university in Virginia and has a culturally and linguistically diverse student body.
